Our microphones are manufactured to the strictest quality standards and therefore have a long service life.
We recommend that the following instructions be followed to ensure a flawless operation of your microphone.

Always disconnect the microphone from the XLR cable before performing any steps.
Only use a dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the outer microphone body, as the electronic components are very sensitive to moisture.
Do not use any cleaning liquids containing solvents (such as acetone), as this could damage the powder coating of the microphone.
For voice recordings it is recommended to use a windscreen. In dusty or humid recording environments, we recommend the use of
a windscreen to protect the capsule from dust and moisture.

To protect the microphone against external influences it is recommended to keep your microphone in the (supplied) wooden box when not in use.

In order to retain the warranty, please never try to make even small repairs by yourself. In these cases, please contact us.

What steps do you take for service maintenance and what costs can I expect?
In order to ensure the proper function and long life of your microphone, we recommend regular maintenance (every five years).
We'd be glad to refurbish your WeissKlang microphone and repair all technical and optical defects.
The maintenance charges depend on the amount and complexity of the work required:

After submitting the maintenance request, you will receive a free return shipping label within 30 minutes.

The customer shall bear the costs for sending in the goods. The return shipment to the customer is free of charge.

How do we service your microphone?
​
The body is cleaned industrially and minor signs of wear are removed.
In case of heavy wear, the body can also be replaced upon request.
Afterwards a mechanical check of the XLR connector is done, which will be replaced if necessary.
Subsequently, all electronic components are tested for function and measured.
Defective components are then replaced.
In the last step, the diaphragm of the microphone capsule is reskinned and calibrated.
