We’re absolutely delighted with the review in the latest edition of Professional Audio (January 2026). In his detailed feature, “Boutique Transducers at a Budget Price,” Harald Wittig took a deep dive into our new L1+—and the results are nothing short of spectacular.
The review particularly highlighted the combination of our genuine German craftsmanship and the microphone’s exceptional price-performance ratio. The testers were impressed by the ‘finely detailed’ sound quality and technical specifications that surpass even more expensive industry standards. The editors’ verdict: The L1+ is a ‘top-tier’ microphone that is worth ‘at least double’ its price tag.
From a technical standpoint, the L1+ is strictly top-tier. Professional Audio was deeply impressed by the specifications, particularly the sensationally low self-noise of just 4 dB-A. In this regard, it outperforms even significantly more expensive reference microphones, delivering an ‘interference-free’ purity that takes recordings to a whole new level. The review also lauded the excellent transient response: thanks to a rapid capture time of just 14 microseconds, signals are reproduced with exceptional naturalness.
In real-world testing scenarios covering everything from classical guitar to singing, the L1+ stood out for its richness of detail and ‘finely resolved, clear audio.’ It adds a lovely contour to low-end vocals while keeping high frequencies smooth and never overly sharp. The microphone proved to be a versatile workhorse that perfectly translates that specific ‘spring water character’—pristine and uncolored.
