//MAINTENANCE

Our microphones are manufactured to the strictest quality standards and therefore have a long service life.

For optimal performance, we recommend following these instructions.

Always disconnect the microphone from the cable before carrying out any steps.

Only use a dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the outer microphone body,
as the electronic components are very sensitive to moisture.

Do not use any liquids containing solvents (e.g. acetone), as this could damage the powder coating of the body of the housing could be damaged.
For close-up recordings (of speech or vocals), you should use a pop shield.
In particularly dusty or humid environments, we recommend using a windscreen to protect the capsule from heavy contamination and moisture.

After use, we recommend storing the microphone in the provided wooden case to protect it from external influences.
We strongly advise against self-repairs, as opening the microphone may void the warranty.

Always have maintenance and repairs carried out by our service team (Book Maintenance).

I would like to have my microphone overhauled by you.

What steps do you take during service maintenance and what costs can I expect?

To ensure consistently flawless performance, we recommend regular maintenance (typically every five years).
We are happy to provide a complete overhaul of your WeissKlang microphone, addressing all technical issues and any significant cosmetic flaws.

How do we maintain your microphone?

Our professional microphone maintenance includes a complex procedure to ensure that your high-quality WeissKlang microphone
remains in perfect condition. Here are the steps we take during maintenance:

1. Industrial enclosure cleaning

The microphone body is thoroughly cleaned to remove dust, dirt and debris.
This improves the external appearance and hygiene of the microphone.

2. Mechanical inspection and repair

A thorough inspection of all mechanical components is carried out to ensure that your microphone is in perfect working order.
Major defects are repaired to ensure longevity and performance.

3. Renewal of the XLR connector

The XLR connector that establishes the connection between your microphone and your recording device is replaced and checked for mechanical integrity to ensure a reliable and noise-free connection.

4. Replacement and fine adjustment of the circuit boards

All circuit boards in the microphone are replaced with new components.
These are then carefully fine-tuned to ensure the best possible sound quality.

5. Measurement protocols and restoration of the basic sound

We save all of our customers’ measurement logs in order to be able to restore the basic sound of your microphone during maintenance (among other things). This ensures that the microphone retains its original sound characteristics after maintenance.

6. Replacement of the capsule membrane and capsule measurement

The sensitive capsule diaphragm is renewed and measured in our anechoic chamber to ensure that it is in optimum condition. The capsule is precisely adjusted to achieve the highest sound quality. In addition, all circuits are matched to each other.
